Write Across Nebraska (WAN) was amazing!  Ron and Jean Lukesh gave valuable information to everyone at the Grand Island library and I had the honor of being the clean up presenter and reinforcing much of what they said.  I presented on Branding and Building a Platform.  Both of these concepts can be confusing and I hope I was able to help it make sense to all of my good friends who attended.

Just in case you are wondering, Write Across Nebraska is one weekend a year where writeers across the state focus on putting words to paper.  The goal is as many words as possible in the one weekend.  We all report the number of words and see how many words are written as a group statewide.  last tally I saw read around 60,000 words.  It's a great program that more and more people participate in each year.  We are already looking forward to another great year next year.  If you want to get involved, send me an email and I can answer most questions or direct you to the person who can.

Thanks to an amazing man I met at a flea market I attended this spring, I am now a member of Toastmasters.  I had considered finding a Toastmasters club before but meeting Bob Foreman was the last little nudge I needed to seriously look into the organization.  Honestly, it's not quite what I expected.  It turned out to be so much more!

What I like about the program is the new member program established to educate speakers about structure, body language, vocal variation, speaking extemporaneously and more.  From this date forward, I will encourage all the authors I work with to find a Toastmasters club and join.  The chances to practice speaking and developing a list of short speeches you can turn to in a pinch will assist everyone with marketing and publicity.
