Join me as I chat with Jo-Anne Vandermeulen on my radio show today. Jo-Anne has one of those amazing uplifting stories to give hope to other writers. After having to quit her teaching job due to Fibromyalgia, she set out to find what else she should be doing in life. Because of her major in English, she thought writing a book might be the way to go to pass time. Then she did the amazing. As she was writing and revising her book, she studied the craft of book writing. As she was looking for publishers, she started studying marketing. She paid her dues and now she is helping other authors learn to promote and market their own books. I will be picking her brain about her projects as well as have her give tips on air!

Last night was a great night.  I presented to the Henderson Writers Group on branding and building a platform.  The attendees there had great questions and participated with insightful comments!  One writer, Morgan made the comment that she had 2 immediately implementable elements to walk away with.

I had the honor to meet some wonderful writers.  One writer, Kyle, is just getting into writing.  I get to take home a sample of his writing to read.  Another writer, Kurt, was in sales for many years but after a layoff decided to pursue his passion for writing.  Darlien has released a books in motion mystery.  Mike has noir mysteries under his belt.  Kevin has a book my son is going to love to read when I get home.  He wrote a cute book about a wall builder and his machine Roxi.  I met a lot more authors last night as well.  Once I get home I'll be booking several of these amazing authors on my radio show.

It was so much fun to do this presentation and several people asked me if I would be interested in presenting at the 2011 Las Vegas Writers Conference.  It's not set in stone but I will keep you all updated.
